The Fall of The Snake
An “Infinity Guild” short story.
In a world where the sun shone a little brighter and the stars twinkled with a hint of mischief, there was a place where tales of old were more than just stories. It was here that Jesus, known to friends as the Carpenter of Light, embarked on a whimsical yet profound journey to confront his most cunning adversary, the Snake King.
The Snake King, a creature of shadows and deceit, had woven a web of darkness across the land. His whispers of temptation had led many astray, and the balance between light and dark teetered on the edge of a precipice.
Jesus, with a heart as vast as the heavens, knew that the time had come to face this serpentine foe. He set out one morning, with the sun casting a golden path before him, and a gentle breeze whispering words of encouragement.
As he journeyed through valleys and over hills, Jesus encountered those who had been touched by the Snake King's influence. To each, he offered a word of kindness, a healing touch, and the promise of a new dawn. With each step, the light within him grew stronger, a beacon of hope in a world dimmed by shadows.
Finally, at the edge of the Enchanted Forest, where reality and fantasy danced hand in hand, Jesus came face to face with the Snake King. The creature was magnificent and terrifying, with scales that shimmered like jewels in the dark and eyes that held the secrets of a thousand lies.
The Snake King hissed a challenge, and the air crackled with tension. "You cannot defeat me, Carpenter. I am the master of deception, the weaver of darkness."
But Jesus, with the calm of a still lake, replied, "It is not by might that darkness is defeated, but by the light of truth and love."
And with those words, a battle unlike any other began. It was not a clash of swords or a contest of strength, but a duel of wits and wills. The Snake King struck with lies and illusions, but Jesus countered with parables and truths, his words piercing through deception like rays of sunlight through the clouds.
As the battle raged, the creatures of the forest watched in awe. Birds ceased their singing, and even the trees leaned in closer, captivated by the spectacle.
In the end, it was a simple act of kindness that turned the tide. Jesus reached out and touched the Snake King's head, not with malice, but with compassion. In that moment, the creature's eyes softened, and the shadows that had bound him began to unravel.
The Snake King, now free from the chains of his own making, transformed before everyone's eyes. Where once there was a creature of darkness, now stood a being of light, radiant and reborn.
The forest erupted in cheers, and the creatures danced in celebration. Jesus had not only defeated the Snake King, but he had also restored balance to the world, proving that even the hardest of hearts could be touched by the power of love and forgiveness.
And so, the tale of the Carpenter of Light and the Snake King became a legend, a story passed down through generations, reminding all that in the battle between light and dark, it is love that triumphs in the end.
